Every Wednesday I feature a fabulous wedding supplier in the south of England. From photography and cakes to event planning and entertainment, these are the people I love to work with and want to shout about!
Today, we have Lindsey Sergeant, a good friend of mine who launched her wedding styling business, Decorate My Day, in 2013. She has years of experience in event planning and a flair for prettiness. And she loves flowers- bonus!
What service/product do you provide?
We provide venue décor, chair covers, sashes, styling and hire of vintage items, vintage china and glassware, alternative centrepieces and quirky props and signage, plus a full set up service for brides who are far too busy to worry about decorating their venue!
Describe yourself in three words:
As a person, I’m friendly, creative, outgoing! As a business I’d say we’re stylish, affordable and reliable!
How did you come to work in weddings?
Having loved working in events since university, I found myself move from a job in fundraising event coordination to wedding coordination through a completely random trick of fate! I found I loved the job so much and met so many brides who could do with some on-the-day help as well as some creative direction for their décor, it seemed logical that I throw myself into this venture!
What do you love most about your job?
Being part of one of the biggest days in a couple’s life, feeling trusted with the details and loving every minute so that it doesn’t feel like work to me.
What part of a wedding makes you go ‘YES!’?
The Champagne
If you were getting married tomorrow, what would you wear?
A Vintage lace number with a very swishy mid-length skirt, and bright blue Louboutins! Not forgetting flowers in my hair!
